This January, Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship's Religious Education program will be focused on racial justice learning, led by BUF's Black Lives Matter ministry action team. Classes will be held during the Sunday service on Jan 06, Jan 13, and Jan 20 from 10:30-11:30. All are welcome!
On January 6 and 13, Younger classes will explore skin color, diversity, and learn how “We are different, we’re the same” with hands-on activities and stories. Older classes will learn about building equitable interracial relationships, being an ally, and some history of racial injustice through role-play and discussion. On Jan. 20 BUF will hold an Intergenerational Sunday. Children will share what they have learned about racial injustice and, along with RE team members and Black Lives Matter, will facilitate small group discussions about racial injustice ending with a message of hope and healing.
